Matthew Davis (a.k.a. DJ Matthew Sol, DJ Tek-9) began his Disc Jockey career almost by accident. While in junior high school, a spring dance had been planned. The DJ that the students had booked for the dance canceled at the last minute. They were facing the tragedy of not having their important event. In a crunch Matt went back to his house and rounded up enough sound equipment and music to allow the dance to go on. His impromptu yet energetic performance that night inspired him to follow the path of that of a Disc Jockey. For the remainder of his high school years he legitimized his mobile disc jockey operation and was booking gigs nearly every weekend. In college, Matt almost immediately took over the roll as “House DJ” for his fraternity. In the spring of his freshman year he was hired to play at San Felipe’s Cantina as their resident disc jockey. Matt continued finding success in his musical performances and was soon spinning at large night clubs. DJ Matthew Sol was coined while studying abroad in Costa Rica in the year 2000. “Sol” being “the sun” in Spanish seemed to fit nicely with the surroundings. Twice weekly, Matt was granted the honor of DJing with national acts along the beaches of Central America.Upon graduating college, with a degree in business and a double minor in music theory and Spanish, DJ Matthew Sol was hired on with a large mobile disc jockey franchise and strove to learn the business aspects of running a large company. After gaining much insight and confidence, he set out to run his own franchise a few years later. Presently, Matthew continues his Disc Jockey empire with partnership locations in Phoenix, Arizona and Denver, Colorado. DJ Matthew Sol’s resume includes: over 200 weddings to date, countless parties, and many nightclub and corporate events.
Ted Noe (a.k.a. DJ Sway) began his Disc Jockey career by sheer luck and perseverance. There was an ad ran in his college town for DJ’s needed at a nightclub. The only requirement was the DJ needed to supply the music. Ted had been a collector and connoisseur of music since he was young. After a few tryouts and minimal pay, Ted had his very first night club gig. Soon after graduation, Ted started working for a mobile disc jockey company for part-time work. DJ Sway worked for the company for five years and became the office manager for two of them. Ted met with each and every client to ensure a superior event. Meanwhile, he once again talked his way into a slot at Lodos Bar and Grill, in Denver, Colorado. He did this by convincing them they needed a DJ to liven things up. After obtaining a few more years of valuable experience, Ted entered Denver’s very first DJ competition. Ted won the competition and quickly graduated from playing at the Bar and Grill all the way to DJ booths at major nightclubs in Denver such as: The Church, Rise and Lotus. Present day, Ted continues his disc jockey profession with partnership locations in Denver, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona. Ted’s resume includes well over 400 weddings to date, countless parties, corporate events, and years of residencies at Denver nightclubs.
Matt Young (DJ M-Y)’s Disc Jockey adventure began at a party in a small Illinois town. In December 2003, he tagged along with his friend who was a DJ for “Boomin’ DJ”: a very successful DJ/Entertainment company in Marseilles, IL. That night, Matt joined their “team.” Having little DJ experience at the time, Matt started out doing some of the smaller events but quickly moved up to some of the larger events playing at local bars and clubs, wedding receptions, and the annual Marseilles Motorcycle Freedom Run which attracts over 10,000 visitors and tourists. As a member of “Boomin’ DJ”, Matt learned some dance moves to songs that people love to follow along too such as: the Disco Dancer skit to the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” and Rose Royce’s “Car Wash.” In September 2008, Matt moved to Phoenix, AZ. One evening he came across a post looking for Disc Jockeys to perform at weddings and other events similar to what he did before with his previous company. Sharing the same passion for music and entertainment as MT Sounds, the transition was easy. Matt has quickly contributed to MT Sounds outstanding reputation for providing good beats to good times.Matt Young’s DJ rep sheet includes: countless weddings, parties, and school graduations, town parades, Ottawa, IL Block Party, The Annual Marseilles Motorcycle Freedom Run, and bar/baht-mitzvahs.
